Bliss Biography
Born and raised in Philadelphia’s northwest suburb of Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Scott McGinley started his career at the early age of twelve. After school Scott played guitar and sung lead vocals in various neighborhood bands. in his teen years Scott dreamed of becoming a successful Pop recording artist and songwriter. Scott’s dream took on foundation when he teamed up with a life long friend and keyboardist Patrick McCabe as they formed “New Religion”.
Patrick first studied piano at the age of ten and he went onto master both keyboards and vocals. Within the same time period, Scott mastered stage presentation, lead vocals and guitar, he also went onto master and excel as a professional songwriter, composer.
Scott’s music and lyrics have a strong and binding effect that takes root in melodic melodies with a taste of Rhythm and Blues but somehow keeps Rock in the center. Scott also has another side to his compositions that will keep you rocking on a dance floor.
In 1996 “New Religion” released an album that charted at # 7 in Taiwan, this helped launch both Scott and Patrick’s career in the Asian market.
The high success of “New Religion” in Asia brought former CEO of Chrysalis Record Company, Terry Ellis to the forefront and signed Scott to a recording contract. Terry Ellis then appointed legendary Producer Keith Olson to the new project. Some of Keith Olson’s credits include Pat Benatar, Whitesnake , Fleetwood Mac and Santana.
Scott’s band would also take on a new name “BLISS”. Musicians for Bliss’s recording project would not only include Scott and Patrick but would also include fame band members of Chicago and Santana.
Recordings were completed outside of Los Angeles at Goodnight LA studios. Produced by Keith Olson and Engineered by Keith Olson and Peter Love. To support the release of the new CD an international tour was setup and musicians from Berklee College of Music were recruited.
The CD was released, distributed and marketed in Asia through TigerStar Record’s. The first single selected off the CD was “Baby, He Loves You” written and performed by Scott McGinley. To help support the new single a music video was filmed in New York City. Bliss’s tour was originally scheduled for three months but had to be extended to seven months after their debut CD was launched successfully in Asia. Their concert tour included the countries of Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Singapore and the Philippines. Both Bliss and their debut CD were very well received.
1999 was a very successful year for “BLISS”. They performed in concert with an average audience attendance of 15,000 to 30,000 screaming fans a night, where Bliss left their fans Mesmerized.
“BLISS” received four top ten hits in Asia from their debut CD and three top ten Videos on MTV (Asia). Bliss was also featured as Artist of the Month on Channel V a highly acclaimed Asian TV Music Show that features Live on-air concerts. In addition, Bliss performed on numerous National Asian TV shows and received a great amount of press coverage.
Scott also scored another hit with international acclaimed Artist Pop Fernandez in Duet “Come What May” and toured with Enrique Iglesias and Pop Fernandez.
