Grant Edwards Biography

Conceived in an elevator of the John Hancock building downtown Chicago on Valentines Day, Grant Edwards was born nine months later in November as a Scorpio (later to discover his stinging intensity and his rebellious passion). Raised in a musical household, his sister performed on the flute and piano, Grant played the guitar and drums and most notably his father beat drums for Jerry Lee Lewis.

Grant’s first experience of Theatre came at the early age of 12 when he was cast as the lead in a Chekhov play, donning a Russian accent and gray hair. Thus young Grant met his first true love—Theatre.

Since then Grant embraced other loves (besides women) such as motorcycles, jeeps, basketball and sushi, while still remaining passionately loyal to his one true love. He studied Theatre Arts at NIU, improvisation at Piven Theatre and is currently training at the Meisner/Carville center in North Hollywood. His instructor, Martin Barter, assisted Sanford Meisner for 15 years and taught at the Neighborhood playhouse in New York City.

Living in LA for 1-1/2 years Grant completed 2 independent films and numerous short films further refining his talent. Grant revels in the freedom acting gives to voice deeper human truths by taking emotional risks and abandoning to instinct. Working as an actor gives Grant a deep sense of truth and self-revelation by living and acting from his heart.
